Sports & Activities
Golf
In the immediate vicinity you will find:
- Sheraton Pine Cliffs, Pinhal do Concelho - This 9-hole course is 2274 metres long with a par of 33.
- Salgados Golf Club, Vale do Rabelho - 18-holes, 6080 metres course length, it is the latest golf course to open in the Algarve and features many water hazards.
- Balai Golf Village - A small but fairly challenging 9-hole course. Very picturesque.
There are many more for those willing to go further afield.
Sailing
Albufeira has a marina and sailing is very popular here. There are also a variety of other water sports that you can partake in.
Horse Riding
There are several horse riding centres throughout the Algarve catering to all levels of ability and it is a wonderful way to take in the beautiful Algarvean countryside.
Blokarting
These wind-powered land karts are absolutely thrilling in a good wind and the sport is not too difficult to get the hang of.
There are many other sports available including tennis, scuba diving and even fishing to name a few.
Evenings out
The local cuisine is of an excellent standard and, if you like to party, there are good night-clubs to enjoy in the vicinity.
Other Sites of Interest
Albufeira has many attractions to visit. For those of a historical inclination, there is an archaeological Museum of items recovered from old ruins located in the older part of Albufeira. There are also many fantastic churches and chapels with some very interesting histories.
